Thanks.

Here is what I am thankful for:

The people I take care of.
The people who take care of me.
That we started letting Tabitha fuss a bit when going down at night on Monday, and now, on Thursday, she's sleeping and it's quiet and I have a minute to blog.
My home.
My health.
My job.
My education.
That Texas is currently winning.
That the future seems wide open with possibility and opportunity.
Glee. Modern Family. The Daily Show. Always Sunny. The Soup. 30 Rock. Community.
The unintentional humor in "New Moon."

If Tabitha really truly starts sleeping at night without being rocked for an hour and then up every ten minutes thereafter, I promise to resuscitate this blog.

XOXO, world. I love you tonight.

Why does Tabs hate me?

She slept great today, but is now antisleep after her middle of the night feeding. Not sure which I prefer, actually. The other reason I'm sure she hates me: she'll eat a ton, but then root and root and root, looking for something to suck on. But all attempts to give her the paci are met with gagging, coughing and looks of such malevolence they'll give you nightmares. Of course, all that lasts for only about 30 seconds, and then she loves it. But until then, seriously it's like you're waterboarding her. But tonight after one especially dramatic paci refusal, I googled some tips on getting a baby to take a paci and followed one of them: I smeared a tiny dab of strawberry jam on the damn thing. Voi-freaking-la! She only refused it for a second before she figured out what a tasty treat I was offering her. Perhaps her majesty will reward me tomorrow with another good sleep day (and a better sleep night). Strawberry jam to the rescue!

I just remembered I can blog from my phone!

Though it won't be much of a post. Just a quick one to say that posts will continue to be few and far between until I am slightly less exhausted. It is a handful to deal with two! And I've had help (in the form of Nonnie Pat, my mom and my sister) nearly every single day! Sad really that I can't quite manage on my own, but even with that said, it is SO much easier this time around. Of course, Tabs being on a sleep strike today was lame as hell, and Ru was also a huge pill which didn't help... But other than that-- cinchy! Now excuse me, but the little striker us finally asleep so I'm going to pass out now too. Peace.
